In today's world, image processing is necessary to get stunning photographs and to take advantage of the technical possibilities. And the best: It also can make a lot of fun to edit photos - if you know how to do that. Let me show this to you!
How is this course structured?
Basics: At the beginning I introduce you to Adobe Lightroom. I will show you all the important features and explain how to import, edit and export photos. I won't bore you with unimportant theory. We will jump right into many practical exercises after the introduction.
Part 01: Now I present you my workflow by showing you a complete processing of the first image. Here you will learn how to edit your photos, step-by-step and with a detailed explanation.
Part 02: In this section I will show you the development of a night-photo. You will learn how to steer the viewer's eye and increase the dynamics by using visual effects. Here we will also briefly use Photoshop to add a special effect.
Part 03: Bad weather does not mean bad photo: Have you ever made that experience? Sometimes you really do not have the right conditions for taking an optimal photo. But unfortunately we can not influence the weather. I show you how to make a great picture out of a supposedly boring photo. Discover the power that Adobe Lightroom Classic CC offers to you.
Part 04: In this part we will repeat a lot of what you have learned so far and apply the knowledge to a fourth photo. You'll see that with my tricks you can get so much more out of your RAW files. We also talk about the importance of colors in landscape photography.
Part 05: This lesson will be amazing. We will edit together my most successful landscape image. With that photo I have won 2 competitions and it also got published in a famous magazine. I tell you all my secrets and explain to you how I achieved that spectacular photo out of the RAW image captured with the camera.
Part 06: Autumn pictures need a special treatment because of their colors, that they catch the viewer and still look natural. I'll show you everything you need to know to edit your waterfall photos with Lightroom.
Bonus: You will receive 11 Lightroom Presets, which I have specially developed for you. With these, you can give your images a whole new look with just one click. 1/2 lb. sauerkraut, rinsed well (not the canned variety)

2 pounds new potatoes, quartered, steamed

1. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add the sausage. Brown well, about 5 minutes. Remove to a plate lined with paper towels. Add the beef and ham to the skillet and brown on all sides, about 5 to 7 minutes. Set aside.

2. In a large saucepan heat the canola oil over medium heat and sauté the onions until translucent, about 10 minutes. Season with salt and pepper. Sprinkle the paprika over the onions and cook, stirring until thick and the raw aroma is gone.

3. Add the sauerkraut, stock, bay leaves, thyme, parsley sprigs, and caraway seeds and stir to combine. Bring to a boil and then reduce the heat, cover, and cook for 45 minutes.

4. Add the sausage, beef, and ham and continue cooking for 10 minutes more. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

5. Serve the stew with the steamed new potatoes.

Bavarian stew with sausage and sauerkraut

It is painful to forget those times when the streets were packed with the Yamaha RX-100 or the Suzuki Samurai zooming past fast with a sweet purred exhaust note and the smell of burning grease. But a decade ago it all changed as two-stroke engines were restricted and four-stroke engines became more evident in the market. Both the engines had a unique note of their own but primarily carried the same parts such as the crankshaft, piston and combustion chamber. However, the way they function created a difference in terms of performance and mileage.


Before going into the details of the engine, it is of utmost importance to understand the expression ‘Stroke.’ Mostly, there are four strokes; the Intake stroke, the Compression stroke, the Combustion stroke and the Exhaust Stroke. Since the mechanism of a two-stroke engine is more robust, let’s first begin by understanding the working mechanism of a four-stroke engine.


As the name suggests, a four-stroke engine requires four strokes of the piston to complete one cycle. The process begins with the piston moving down, allowing the intake to let in a mixture of air and fuel. This part is known as the Intake stroke. When the piston moves back up, it compresses the air and fuel mixture, completing the Compression stroke. The spark plug creates a spark that results in an explosion and pushes the piston down again to complete the Combustion Stroke. As the piston hits bottom, the exhaust outlet opens and flushes out the residue with the piston moving back up. This final part is known as the Exhaust Stroke.


Moving on to two-stroke, on one side is the combustion chamber where the piston compresses the air and fuel mixture. The piston compresses the air-fuel mixture and captures the energy caused by the ignition of the fuel. On the other side of the piston stands the crankcase, which acts as another air chamber. When the piston goes up on its combustion stroke, it creates a vacuum to suck in fuel from the carburettor through the reed valve. Once the combustion stroke begins, it pressurizes the crankcase, and the reed valves are closed for which the air and fuel are forced into the combustion chamber. The air and fuel from the crankshaft are further forced up again to go out of the exhaust outlet which results in a scavenging effect as once again, more air and fuel is sucked in to repeat the cycle.


The difference in the two engines is not only limited to how they function mechanically but also extends to the way they perform, the maintenance they need, and their overall life-cycle. Two-stroke engines tend to have a shorter life due to the lack of a dedicated lubrication system which makes the parts wear out frequently. The cost of a two-stroke engine’s oil is much more expensive compared to a four-stroke one. Furthermore, it requires a little more lubricating oil as it often gets burned with the fuel A two-stroke engine also emits a lot more pollution compared to a four-stroke engine as they are equipped with ports instead of valves.


A two-stroke engine carries with itself several negative aspects. But it continues to rule the hearts of moto-enthusiast due to some of its characteristic features, which do not just look good on paper but also on the tarmac. More straightforward to manufacture and lighter, a two-stroke engine has a larger ratio in terms of power to weight and generates much higher torque. Because of these characteristics, two-stroke engines continue to be an excellent fit for dirt bikes and snowmobiles to get the hard job done with ease.

Sponging, ragging, and spattering add color while fooling the eye into believing the wall has texture. If you’re ready to start experimenting with faux finishing, put on your painting togs, gather a few tips, and get ready to begin faux finishing your way around the house. Once you get started, it’s hard to stop.

The tools you need for sponging are a base paint, a glaze, a sponge, rags or paper towels for blotting, and something to hold the paints. Choose a color of paint for the base and roll it on the walls. Choose a complementary color for sponging over the base-painted walls. Dampen a sea sponge in water and squeeze out extra moisture. Lightly dip the sponge into a glaze, blotting off excess on paper towels or old rags. Using light pressure, press the sponge to the wall, creating an overall pattern. You can allow as much of the base paint to show through as you wish. Continue dipping the sponge in glaze, blotting and pressing until the wall is complete.

The faux painting technique of ragging creates a mottled look on walls or wood furniture, using two colors of paint and glaze. You will need a sturdy pair of plastic or rubber gloves for this project, along with paint, glaze, rags, and a paint tray. Start with a base coat in one color. When the wall or piece of furniture is dry, it is time to decorate with glaze and rags. Empty half the glaze into a paint tray. Dip a rag into the paint and squeeze out excess paint in your hands while wearing rubber gloves. Starting at the top corner of one wall, begin pressing the crumpled, paint-laden rag against the wall. Create variations by wadding up the cloth as you continue across the wall. Reapply paint to the rag by dipping as needed.

Marbling, a faux wood finish, turns tabletops, mantles, and columns into stunning accessories that complete the look of an elegant room. The supplies you need are two glazes that will lend a look of marble, veining glaze, white glaze, shellac, an artist brush or feather, sponges, something to hold the glazes, and rags or paper towels. Using a sponge dipped in a glaze with excess paint blotted on an old rag, completely cover the tabletop or mantle, creating a base coat. Stipple on the second glaze color using a fresh sponge.
