Course description

If you play a musical instrument or sing, and want to learn about the basic concepts of music theory and modern harmony, this course is for you! This course was designed to cover all the fundamental elements of modern harmony, in a clear and easy-to-follow way. The goal is that you can become a solid musician who understands all the theoretical concepts and, more important, apply them in a practical way! This course is the first part of a complete music learning system. In this level you will learn: - All major and minor scales and key signatures - All the musical intervals, diatonic and chromatic - All the modal scales (Greek modes) and its applications - 3-note and 4-note chords: augmented, diminished, suspended, dominants, etc. - Principles to harmonize melodies and create different voices in an arrangement - Principles to use scales when creating melodies or improvising on any instrument - The foundations of music arrangement and composition This is not a music reading course. This course was created to help musicians to take their musicianship to the next level. With this course, you will improve your music creation skills, your improvisation and music performance. This course will allow you to:

- Understand what is going on "inside" your favorite songs, as you will understand its harmony, chords and progressions. - Improve your improvisation skills. You will know how to use scales in a musical way. - Know the principles of harmonization and reharmonization, so you can start creating fresh arrangements of tunes. - Communicate in a better way with other musicians, so you will know what chords or scales are required in certain situation. Many music schools and conservatories teach music theory in a confusing and somewhat cryptic way. This makes the students to spend years without truly understanding what is all that knowledge for. The concepts and methodology of this course will save you hours of struggle, as you will learn in a very efficient way.

These concepts can be applied to any instrument and any music genre! like: - Pop - RnB - Hip Hop - EDM - Rock - Jazz - Blues - Latin - etc. Forget about looking for tutorials and pieces of knowledge here and there. Marco Galvan has been active in the music and audio business for more than 17 years. He holds a B.Eng and a major in Acoustics from the National Polytechnic Institute. He is a professional musician, pianist, arranger and composer with studies at the Berklee College of Music and he holds Certificates in Music Theory and Keyboard Performance from the ABRSM and Trinity College London. In the audio field, he studied at Alchemea College in London and holds several certifications like: Pro Tools User, Meyer Sound System Design, Nexo and DiGiCo operator among others.
